- Diplomatic Passport: For diplomats, high-ranking government officials, and representatives on diplomatic missions abroad.
- Official Passport: For members of parliament, government officials, and individuals on official business or diplomatic missions.
- Special Passport: Issued to specific individuals such as judges, senior government officials, etc., as determined by the government.
Consular Assistance Bangladesh embassies and consulates provide consular assistance and support to Bangladeshi citizens abroad, including emergency assistance, repatriation, lost passports, and other consular services.
Bangladeshi E-Passports Bangladesh has introduced e-passports, which store demographic and biometric information on a chip inside the passport. This enhances security and makes passport authentication more efficient. For more information, visit www.epassport.gov.bd.
No Visa Required (NVR) Endorsement The “No Visa Required (NVR) for Travel to Bangladesh” endorsement is available for foreign citizens of Bangladeshi origin (excluding SAARC country nationals) and their foreign-born spouses and children. This allows multiple entries into Bangladesh and permits an unlimited stay within the validity of the passport. Eligible individuals must apply through a Bangladeshi embassy or consulate with proof of Bangladeshi heritage.
The NVR endorsement simplifies travel for the Bangladeshi diaspora, facilitating visits for family, business, or cultural purposes without the need for a visa for each entry.
