Tour Plan
Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi and Drive to Aberdares National Park
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, meet our driver guide and after a short session of safari briefing drive to Aberdares National Park. Well known to the world as the home of succession where, in came a princess and out went the Queen of England while at Treetops Lodge, Aberdares is a land of fortune and diversity. The Park got its name from Lord Aberdares who was one of the founder members of the Royal Geographical Society.
Located in the central highlands, west of Mount Kenya and 160kms from Nairobi, the foothills of the Aberdares National Park is covered with huge trees, which, as you go higher, gradually give way to bamboo forests. From about 3, 000 meters upwards, the landscape consists primarily of alpine moorland which gives way to an area of grass land with giant lobelias presenting an attractive contrast. Try this destination of fortunes - and who knows? You might just be the next ‘queen or king!’
Attractions: The major physical attractions: Lesatima and Kinangop peaks, numerous waterfalls, Twin Elephant hills, Table Mounts, black rhinos, elephants, buffalos, giant forest hogs, lions, leopards, baboons, black and white colobus as well as syke monkeys. Bird viewing is incredible with over 250 species of birds recorded.
Lunch at the hotel and enjoy watching wildlife in the afternoon or evening from the hotel terrace as they come to drink water at the waterhole.

Day 2: Aberdares National Park to Samburu Game Reserve
After breakfast drive to Samburu Game Reserve to arrive in time for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive in the Reserve. Samburu National Reserve was one of the two areas in which conservationists George and Joy Adamson raised Elsa the Lioness. Their story was made famous by the bestselling book and award-winning movie "Born Free". Samburu National Reserve is situated on the banks of Ewaso Ngiro River in the dry northern part of Kenya and it neighbors several homes of the Samburu tribe who are known for their remote culture, pastoral and nomadic way of life.
The presence of the Ewaso Ngiro River and its shady trees attract plenty of wildlife. Giraffes, large herds of elephants, buffalos, gerenuks, gazelles, waterbucks and zebras (including the endangered Grevy’s zebras) from the surrounding savannah plains trek to the water. Lions, leopards and cheetahs are also quite easy to spot; thanks in part to the lack of plentiful grass cover. This reserve affords visitors the opportunity to see wildlife that only live in this dry northern part of Kenya; namely the long necked gerenuks, Grevy's zebras, reticulated giraffes and Beisa Oryx. The elusive Kenya leopard is often known to visit the park too; particularly in the evening hours.
Birdlife is in plenty with well over 350 different species of birds recordedincluding vultures, kingfishers, marabous, bateleurs, guinea fowls, Somali ostriches and others.
Optional visit to a Samburu Cultural Village at US $20 (price guaranteed only with advanced booking)

Located within Mount Kenya National Park which is approximately 193 kilometers or a two-and-a-half-hours drive from Nairobi, you will check in the Serena Mountain Lodge that is nestled in a woody area of the Mount Kenya National Park at a height of 2134 meters above sea level. The lodge towers over the mountainous peaks of Mount Kenya where you can view the spectacular game, regularly viewed at the waterhole daily. The panoramas surrounding Serena Mountain Lodge will delight you with their dramatic features. By day, cool, clear mountain air and sweeping views across the treetops beckon with opportunity for discovery and exploration. The African night is enlivened by sounds of the forest animals. You can view the game even closer as they feed at the water hole by visiting the specially built and constructed viewing bunker which is connected to the lodge from a short tunnel. An open-air deck gazes down to a water hole bustling with elephants and buffalo herds.
